Association of Newfoundland and Labrador Archives Workshop
Registration is now open for the Archival Appraisal Virtual Lunch and Learn with Simon Rogers!
Join National Archival Appraisal Board chair Simon Patrick Rogers for a virtual lunch and learn about the state of monetary appraisal in Canada. This open session will offer a brief presentation on the history of monetary appraisal practices in Canada and is an opportunity to ask questions about the role of the National Archival Appraisal Board. What are the procedures and practices governing the core competency of archival monetary appraisal, what resources are available, and how much is that box of unprocessed royal family ephemera and memorabilia in my aunt’s closet worth? The format of the session will include ample time to address any and all questions pertaining to monetary appraisal, cultural certification, tax receipting, and other related issues.
About the Facilitator:
Simon Patrick Rogers is the special collections archivist for the University of St. Michael’s College (USMC) John M. Kelly Library and has written extensively on architecture, archives, music, and the monetary appraisal of archives. He is a practicing appraiser, and chair of the National Archival Appraisal Board.
